The Pacific Prawn Fishermen’s Association was formed in 2000. It is a registered non-profit society representing the 245 BC Spot Prawn licence holders. Our association works with the government on regulatory matters, conducts research, and provides information to prawn industry members. The PPFA has helped developed wild BC Spot Prawns as a highly sought-after seafood delicacy.
Our focus has always been on the continuing conservation of prawn stocks and the sustainability of the BC spot prawn fishery.
Responsibly managed
The commercial spot prawn fishery has effective management and monitoring measures in place to ensure a healthy fishery for generations to come. We are committed to prawn stock conservation and a sustainable fishery. Did you know that the commercial prawn fishery began in BC in 1914?
