The Pacific Prawn Fishermen’s Association was formed in 2000. It is a registered non-profit society representing the 245 BC Spot Prawn licence holders. Our association works with the government on regulatory matters, conducts research, and provides information to prawn industry members. The PPFA has helped developed wild BC Spot Prawns as a highly sought-after seafood delicacy.

Our focus has always been on the continuing conservation of prawn stocks and the sustainability of the BC spot prawn fishery.

A premium seafood delicacy

BC Spot Prawns are a premium seafood delicacy. Our commercial fishery is based around the complex lifecycle of the prawns. Did you know that spot prawns begin their lives as males and then transition to females?

Harvested from the pristine coast

Our fishermen use baited traps to harvest wild BC Spot Prawns. Prawns are harvested deep from the chilly waters of the Pacific Ocean producing a fresh quality product. Spot Prawns are generally harvested from ocean depths ranging from 50 to 150 meters.
